cargo barrier and water storage

We have a water bladder hanging behind the rear seat in our dual cab hilux, we drain it after each trip and use a solution to keep the water tasting nice. No problems with leaking, water tastes fine, it holds 50 litres. I bought it through the local ARB store.

From our experience, its not a bad idea, especially in remote areas, to carry water in multiple containers. The quality of water that you can get will vary a lot. If you have one big container you then may have to put poor quality water in it if that is all that is available. For years we have carried a couple of 20 litre containers of good quality water that are a reserve supply, but for day to day use we use 10 X 3l juice bottles. That way good water is not spoilt by less good water, and if we have the small bottles full of poor quality water its easy to tip it out and refill them when better stuff is available. Works for us.

I know with the wagons you can get a cargo barrier that fits behind the front seats.

We got a 60 litre bladder made up to our specifications. It works really well. We use it for our secondary water supply and have 45 litre stainless tank for our main drinking water.
