My Dick Smith indoor/outdoor thermometer has died. It was a wired one with a simple time and temperature readout. I have done a Google search and see you could easily spend more than $1,000. Does anyone have a good but inexpensive wireless unit they could recommend? We had the last one in the caravan but will also take it camping.
Thanks in advance

Two years ago I bought a wireless $25 cheapie indoor/outdoor weather station at the
Richmond Qld
post office while passing through. Hasn't missed a beat apart from ONE battery set replacement in both the outdoor and indoor units.
Similar units are a dime a dozen - have a look around.
Cheers

If you just want a wireless indoor/outdoor you can also use an EvaKool thermometer made for a fridge but works just as
well as an ordinary thermometer. Price is around $38.00

Never bothered with all that fancy scientific bizzo myself. All I have ever used is a $19-95 weather
rock from Windy Creek. ( OK Google it up if you think I'm having a shot.) Most of our everyday problems are only brought about by our own desire to complicate otherwise simple tasks like observing weather. Why bother anyway? If it is warm and sunny you take your shirt off and go for a walk. If it is cold and dreary you put your shirt back on and then a jacket and sit inside the caravan. If it is cold and wet you anchor up in Blanket Bay ,just south of Pillow Point, with a good book, what could be simpler than that ? Having said that I have just heard the forecast for tomorrow and the weather bloke reckons if it keeps up we'll get more of the same. Can't argue with that ! Cheers.

Thanks Dingojim,
Sounds like you have been a sailor. If so, you'd know how we watch every aspect of weather we can.
On the other hand, I guess a digital thermometer could mean a finger out the window.
Cheers

Skulldog, as you are in SA.
Check out the specials at Banner Hardware at the moment. My local store (
Blackwood) had a batch yesterday that looked pretty good. $29.00
