Keep an eye on central darling shire council web site. Click on road closures.
The roads around Menindee Lakes were all closed a week ago.
Open now though

Just checked the live traffic update site and it said it the road was closed between Wilcannia and Tilp according to their map tags.

Then I checked the Central Darling Council website re road closures, and it said
true as of Monday 11th March 2013 at 8:41am, the road is open.
In fact from their list they are all open and the White Cliffs to Mandalay SR6 is open to light traffic only.

So it looks OK.

Planning on doing that exact trip in the reverse direction in April.
