Have owned the current (new) model BT50 since April 2012 and have had a Safari Snorkel on order from ARB since. At this point they are still not available, although from all reports hundreds if not thousands of BT50's and Rangers have been sold. The Safari website advises it is now just recently available for the 3.2 XLT Ranger but not the XL and "Coming Soon" for the Mazda.
I have attempted to contact Safari but no response.
Does anyone know what the issue is?

I am not familiar with the BT 50 problem, however I can relate to you a problem that existed with the Safari product in 2003 & later in 2009 with the T/D auto Pajero. Having owned a 2003 NP auto diesel & now a 2009 NT, the problem,as explained to me by a Safari Industries s/person was the resonating & vibrations through the snorkel. The problem was, apparently only attributed to the automatic version of the Pajero. I can recall that it took approximately 6 mths for the problem to be sorted. Safari (and to their credit) were not prepared to market an inferior product passing on a problem to the consumer. I hope this info may assist you. Be patient,I am sure they will get on top of whatever is holding up production. Robert.

Checked out that thread, and really nothing that deeming about the Airtec TJM snorkel. I have one on our new D.Max and think it is of good quality.

Give airflow in Melbourne a ring, really know their stuff.
I rang them years ago about a snorkel for the Commander.
They were developing it and I bought it when it was produced.
Local manufacturer, good product.
I don't know if they make one for the BT50, but if they don't. I'm sure they will if the demand is there.
By the way I'm in Perth and nothing to do with them.

G'day

Funny that you inquire about Safari snorkels, I did the same just yesterday.
I was told that the final design was now complete and should be available in about 6 weeks.

Here's hoping
Peter.

Hope you are right Peter,
ARB have been advising they are "not far away" for the last 6 months!

I found the Genuine Mazda snorkel cheaper and a better fit especially with the curved bottom section.

Mazdave,
I gave up and fitted an airtec to my Ranger. I am lead to believe the original Safari design was very efficient at getting the air through but it looked like a pregnant elephant, so they have redesigned it.

I wasn't very happy how TJM sealed the airtec where it went into the air cleaner, I will fix it myself as I know it will be done right. Goodbye TJM.
Keep you head above water,
RA.
