Thanks Danna.... did me the world of good... but too funny for those with health conditions - excessively hilarious - think I'll scratch any Russian travel plans.

hi Danna
Good shots but I must be a bit of a sceptic surely some must be set up or do all cars have crash cameras fitted. Even in WA were not that bad
cheers Ken

As much as I know, Russians are very mad when it comes to anything new in any technology. They will go rather hungry, but they must have "that gadget". You see lots of stuff was denied to them for generations of communist era. So now they must have it.
These shots are send from different people from different cars by on board cameras....very cheap and more common there than here.
Cheers Dana

We stopped at a rail crossing on the way back to St Petersburg on a Sunday afternoon. The guy driving the car two in front of me, got out to take a wizzz while we were waiting. He was so drunk that he could not find the door handle to get back in. The other drivers just got out of their cars opened the door for him and put him back into the drivers
seat. The train came and we all drove off again.
Another time we were stopped by the traffic police ( I was not driving
mine you) for doing 140 in a 50 zone. We just paid the speeding fine directly to the policeman, $3.47 and went on our way.
There are just about no rules except get yourself a really big SUV and put a bullbar on the front.

Graham,
that's not surprising for me ... I have seen these things probably before anyone of you here ...... and that was time of total "control" ... sort-of at least in something anyway.
They use to live by one of their slogan: "Russian person can never freeze to dead" ("Sovetskij celavek nikagda nezmiorzne") .......... They really believed they can't freeze to dead, if they full of vodka. They applied that to their babies and children. I have seen all that on my own eyes .... no kidding!
Cheers Dana

I wouldn't be able to advice you about flying there, but I can give you another good Russian slogan:
"Many of us" (means Russians) "Nas mnogo".
They really use to live by this slogan.
Millions of Russians were killed in Second Word War, very often drunk. Army supplied vodka, so they wouldn't care what's happening to them.
Cheers Dana

I have driven a bit in Russia. Personally saw cars overtaking trucks with trucks coming in opposite directiohn on 2 lane road. Just went onto the far shoulder or squeezed between. Absolutly mad drivers.
