We have just sold our Expanda pop top and bought a new 2013 Jayco Sterling model 17-55-7 with shower and toilet. It's the model with the bed off at an angle next to the shower. The reason we choose this was because there's more worktop space for the kitchen area. We were supposed to get it in a couple of weeks but Jayco have just told us it wont be ready now until April. They said it's not a popular model and there is only 2 being made, which has now made us think if we are buying the right one. We are thinking about cancelling it and looking for another model. They also said originally when we bought it that the nice laminex worktop would be available in the 2013 range and also we could have last years fabric too and now they say it isn't available. We are SO disappointed and feel they just told us anything to get the sale. Would anyone recommend this model and any other feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers

John & Deb

We will be selling our C/T when we return from the Kimberley in August and that will be the model we are looking for. Know some people who might what to sell their 2011 model then, keep our fingers crossed, theirs has the U shape dinette which can make up another double, we like the larger table in that set up. So I think that people like the extra cupboard space, friends have an on road one in that set up.

Yes we were having the U shaped lounge converted into a bed too. It's an OB model. Thanks for your reply.

Hi
you don't say what town or state you are in, if you look on Watson's caravans at coffs harbour they have a 2012, 17-55-7sh model brand new i'm sure you could do a good deal on!
when we bought our Sterling we were told we could have one straight away and ended up waiting 6 months because they miss ordered the one we wanted, we ended up doing a deal with the dealer for a few extra's ( no charge) because of the delay. You could talk to your dealer along those lines.
Must admit it was worth the wait as we are very happy with the van.

I have no interest in Watson's Caravans other than they have the model you are looking at.

Tricky,
Thanks for the information, we are located in Brisbane so Coffs Harbour off the radar.
Spoke to the dealer and they inform us that the Jayco Factory have miss ordered, etc. (Where have you heard that one before?) But the factory want to do the right thing and they will knock something of the price because it was their mistake. So like you all good things come to those who wait and a couple of more months in the scheme of things won't really matter. I just hope it'll be worth the wait, fingers crossed, in the end.

Hi John & Deb

we live near Sydney but traded our caravan at Coffs Harbour while on a trip, we saw the van we wanted in the show room, we did the deal with the salesman there and then only to find out while signing the papers that, that one had been sold the day before by another salesman.
Anyway we went ahead and ordered one from the factory 3 month wait fair enough BUT when we went to pick it up 3 months later they had made the wrong model ( no washing machine) which we wanted so we agreed to wait another 3 months while they made another! hence the extras for no charge. we were still happy with the van as i said before so no problems.
So that's where the Jayco Factory miss order came from
