The Daintree is a locality set on the
Daintree River. Known as Daintree Village, it is a delightful place in a natural and scenic setting. The town has three cafes, a timber museum, a souvenir
shop and galleries showcasing local arts and crafts. Local shops sell tickets for the various river cruises and land-based tours (such as 8x8 tours and nature walks). Numerous farmstay and B&Bs offer accommodation as
well as the caravan park and the resort.
The Daintree Villiage is the starting point for a croc cruise or the
CREB Track. Relax in the caravan park at sunset and soak in the ambience. While there consider a self-guided walk, to a beautiful waterfall and
swimming hole at Cassowary Falls on the Upper Daintree Road.
Drive through the scenic valley beyond Daintree Village. Stop and talk to the cows. Park along the river and look for the elusive Great-billed Heron or other of the many bird species seen in the Daintree Valley.
