A couple (3) of cars are having a casual day out in Mt Mee State Forest on Sunday 6th August and I thought I'd see if anyone would like to tag along. We're meeting at the Dayboro Pub carpark at around 9am.
I'd like to follow the route from the 'Dirty Weekends' book which covers A-Break which should be a challenge, and also go to the Somerset Dam lookout (Fabulous views of the valley & dam). From here I'd like to follow a few trails that appear on my topo map and see how good/bad they are which will eventually lead us to the Gantry day use area for lunch (ish). The map also shows a route from here that should take us back to Dayboro via dirt roads instead of going back via the bitumen so I'd like to follow this. I don't anticipate finishing too late in the afternoon so a beer at the pub is not out of the question.
Any suggestions, tracks or directions you want to do can be accommodated.
A FREE Permit to Traverse is required for vehicles. Contact QPWS on Ph:(07) 3227 7800 to obtain this permit.

Andrew
