QLD - Birdsville races 2013

Looking to form a friendly group of enthusiasts who wish to travel to the Birdsville races from Brisbane. Looking at going from Brisbane to Birdsville and then heading down the Birdsville track to Marree, visiting Wilpena Pound for an air flight over and then head back to Brisbane via Broken Hill, Cobar and Narrabri.
Hoping to see all the interesting sights along the way, so an adventurous journey with like minded travellers would be great - even if only joining up for part of the journey.

We would be travelling in a Nissan Patrol with a Black Wolf tent. We have completed a lap of Australia with our car and caravan and have had considerable experience with our Melbourne based 4wd club. I have a Jayco Swan Outback off road camper for sale with bed fly's & full annexe if you are interested. it has two jerry can holders and a double gas bottle mount as well, apart from that it is standard and much loved by the family. Unfortunately the ATO has other plans for it so it must go. I live in Sydney so drop me an e-mail if you would like a look.

I am located in Sydney and will travel from Sydney and meet up with you somewhere on the run across to Birdsville and then travel on to Marree after which I am planning to head for Uluru and places nearby before returning to Sydney. I have not fully planned my itinerary yet and am flexible. But it would be good to have the company on the run across to Birdsville and Marree. I was in the Flinders Ranges in March and skipped through Arkaroola and would like to spend more time there as well. Let me know what you think.

Love to catch up some place on the way and travel to the races. Will then be going on to Innamincka
