The trip was hassle free with the typical windy and hilly roads. Traffic was light and we enjoyed stopping to look at the
views and other points of interest. Lunch was at a very nice place called
Orford (Thanks to Baz and Pud telling us of the error in location) . It is on the
Prosser River and we stopped on the south side right on the river with plenty of space for the van. After lunch we crossed the river and found that there were a number of picnic areas on the side as
well.

Next stop was at a
lookout that gave us a great view across the water to The Freycinet peninsular.

We stopped at a Winery to top up our stocks at a Winery called "Gala" in a town called
Cranbrook. The
shop was right on the side of the road and was originally the
Post Office and
General store. The didn't have a huge range of wines but we found a couple that suited us.
Another surprising stop was for Berry Ice-cream, we can't remember where but they had signs out on the roadside with a picture of an ice-cream cone. (Baz and Pud have since told us it was just before
Swansea) The place was a little tin building, but the ice cream was fantastic.
We hadn't booked into
Freycinet National Park and on arrival we found the
camp full. The Rangers advised us that tomorrow Saturday and Sunday were free and we could
free camp for Friday Night down the road at River and Rocks Road. The
free camp was very full but we found a spot to settled in for the night. It rained on and off all night and the black sand turned to wet black sand by the morning. The one "Long Drop"
Toilet was not very pleasant and we were happy to have a
toilet on board the van.
