G,Day All...
Been chasing around Nissan dealers in search of a 17inch steel rim for a current D40 STX---(to have as a second spare)--Shock horror at the price, and was wondering have any Navara owners found a suitable after market wheel that does the job at a "sensible" price---I've been quoted between $530 & $565, can't believe it, considering I've got a brand new L/C 200 wheel I bought for my now sold Cruiser, for $135, Hard to compare eh! ---Any suggestions appreciated
P.S....Anyone want a 200 wheel?

Hi Sapper,
Try some of the tyre retailers.
Cheers, Jerry.

Tried that Jerry,--seems to be no 17inch wheels to suit Navara

Hi again desray....been on the web site, and it looks very much like their steel wheels for Navara's are all 5 studs, and all D40's....ST,STX,& STX550 are all 6 studers.------Their 4x4 alloys are 6 stud, but the sizes are 17x8,---D40's are 17x7,--so back to start again
Cheers ...rex

Where did you get the 5 and 6 stud ?? from . They are just pictures of the rims , they will have any size you want if you ask. They do a 17X8 6 stud to for a Prado it may fit the Navara .You will need to ask them

Thee years ago I went through a publication that listed all vehicle wheel sizes. The Navara/Pathfinder wheels were orphans when it came to PCD measurements and stud numbers. There was only one other vehicle that had the same PCD but the stud numbers were different (I think it was a Hilux.) Unless things have changed you will only get wheels made specifically for your vehicle.

Well thats what you get from Nissan...lots of their spare parts prices are rediculous.....even more so than other brands
ANYway, my first port of call would be the wreckers.
Yes I would also trawl the tyre retailers who supply afteremarket rims..not looking for an aftermarket rim, but a used rim that has been replaced.
of course there is ebay.
No matter the source, I think you will need to persist and keep circling like a vulture till you see one, then swoop on it.
Used genuine rims are always in demand.....the genuine price is the obvious reason.
cheers

Hi Sapper. I would hammer away at tyre retailers. I was in the same situation as you when I got my 4by. Tried Holden too dear.Went away came back with one tyre staked.round to Bridgestone to get a new tyre and talking to him about the cost of new rims from Holden. He said I got 4 outback. I took 2 and was charged $60 each

Thanks Bantam and Goldmad......I tried all the wreckers possible, and Ebay, all to no avail,---but there's light in the tunnel,--I've been hammering away at the tyre outlets as you suggested Goldmad, and one has come back with an after market rim to suit -(I hope)---He says it's a 17x8 inch rim, and THINKS it wont matter that the Navara is a 7inch.---I'm cautious about that, and am seeking advice as to wether there will be a problem or not.----Hope not, cos he's quoted me $125, so you can imagine my delight after the Nissan quotes-----fingers crossed
Thanks for your input.. Cheers.... Rex
