OK all you border types, we are going to Cooloongatta Tweed Heads for a bowling carnival next September and want to stay in a caravan park as close as possible to the main area of Cooloongatta. All suggestions welcome, price is obviously a consideration but not the main concern. The main problem will be getting back to the park at night while full of idiot soup. Cabs will have to be the transport of choice.

Hi Ray,

Have a look at the content of the attached web site for suitable caravan parks, you may get some leads from other people opinions.

G'Day Ray
We stayed at Kirra beach tourist park back in November, I would strongly recommend it. Its very clean and tidy with large grassy sites, only a block back from the beach and only a 5-10 minute drive to Cooloongatta/Tweed heads, you could even walk it if you're feeling keen. Price from memory was $26 a double for a powered site. We were only planning to stay there two nights but ended up stopping for five. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Hope this helps.
Regards Jon

We would recommend Kirra Caravan Park also. (Top Tourist) though it is a council park. We stayed there on the way up north and back last August , rated as one of the best of our trip.!MPG:3!

Most if not all the clubs would have courtesy buses which run everytime a group of people request a driver to take them home. Or the Surfside bus service is great they run every half hour north or south. If you want to stay near a surf beach choose Kirra if you like calm clear riverside site choose Boyds Bay both are on the bus line.
