Plastic jerry cans and ethanol blends

Bought one of those black plastic jerries yesterday, and then had a thought - what happens if you filled them up with an ethanol blend fuel like
United Boost or the new Optimax Extreme? Does the 5/10% ethanol affect the jerry can?
Might track down the manufacturer and ask - I thought they were made by Rheem, but can't find Rheem written anywhere on the label or the container.

I don't think you will have a problem - many new car fuel tanks are also plastic and the odds are that they are made out of the same type of plastic as plastic jerries.

Methylated Spirit (metho) is around 90% ethanol (ethyl alcohol, or grain alcohol) w/- approx. 10% methanol (methyl alcohol) added to render it undrinkable (and poisonous!!!)..... There can be other additives (like bittering agents), but usually only in trace form.....
This stuff (metho) is sold in cheap plastic bottles, so I can't see a 5-10% pure ethanol/fuel mix having any effect on a plastic fuel container.... (Less effect than the ULP itself, I would think).....
