Hi all,
Does anyone out there have any experience with Eldorado brand tyres? I am looking at getting some new tyres for my 2001 Patrol and these have been recommended. I am told they are made by Coopers.
I would have bought BFG's but apperently they are 50/50 on road off road, and im looking at something more 70/30 on road off road.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

I bought 5 brand newbies not so long ago. 265x75x16

Yes they are made by Cooper for another company

Have put them on the trailer and carry the other as extra spares for trailer and Nissan. Price fitted was $168ea

Havent done any distance with them yet. They look OK for a highway type tyre. Time will tell.

G'Day Josh I made some inquiries about these and it was confirmed that they are made in the Coopers factory. I asked about carcass construction and the reply was that they are constructed to the specs of a typical radial tyre? And carry the implied warranty of any tyre that is sold in Australia. So i guess that they are well constructed, just not to the same standard as genuine coopers. I think I will invest the extra dollars and get the Coopers, unless there are more positive testimonials out there.

I had a set on my disco for some 60,000 K's and had no trouble with any of them. I think they were ZX's Good ride and great wearing. Still roadworthy with 60,000 on them. Tried to get some for my patrol but was told they were not available in 70 size. Managed to get a free dueler to match my spare for thr rears and put two GT's RT Savero's on the front.
I know it was a cheap way out but not all of us have mobs of dollars.
I would most certainly get them again if they bring out 70X16 inch size.

I believe that they have been around in the US sine the 60's, so they are certainly no new upstart. I'd say they'd be worth a look. I'm sure a few years ago, someone asked the same question about Coopers.
