Looking for flexible tubing - snorkel question

I wonder if anyone out there can tell me where I might be able to find the kind of flexible plastic tubing that's used in snorkel installations. I've just fitted a Safari snorkel to my GQ but because of the modifications I've made inside the engine bay, the snorkel installation ends behind the headlight since the standard Safari plumbing kit won't work out, and now I have to connect that point to the air cleaner housing. What I'm after is that large-diameter accordion type tubing, similar to what the vehicle was fitted with in the first place.

Safari have the tubing that you want, go to the 4WD shop that you got the snorkel from and ask them to order a length for you. It will not be cheap but they will have it. The snorkel for a BJ 40 required about 2mts of the tubing.

If you are looking for a short bit then look at what other vehicles normally use, some vehicles have a fairly long concertina pipe running around the engine bay. If you find one that has similar pipe then you could perhaps go to a wreckers yard.

Exactly - and funnily enough, the section I need is precisely the section you have there - from the snorkel entry point, around the battery box I just fitted, and connect to the original near the corner of the battery.

Places that sell truck air cleaners and fittings will also have it.

Autobahn stocks it for the doof-doofs. Costs an arm and a leg, and comes in a range of colours :-))

My son got some from BL Shipway in Adelaide (hose company).

Repco - $30-something dollars.

Excuse the airhorns and lack of dual battery - this is after I installed my snorkel, but before I started morphing the under-bonnet area into my own after purchase.

Repco? Cool - in that case I'll try the Coffs Harbour store next week. My local store here in Sydney doesn't know what "air intake hose" is. I found exactly what I need to get at Pirtek this morning, but all they had was a single 300mm offcut, and nothing else in stock.

Aaaarrggghh.

I saw it in Supercheap Auto's today.
Variety of colours available and from memory it came in lengths about 4ft for about $35.00

the product you want and the one trucky has in his photo, is called TPRDS tube made by Nylex, heat resistant with a stainless spring wire. can be had in heaps of diameters to suit any job.

Purple pig have heaps of it, buy by the metre, or anywhere that stocks nylex industrial tube products.

Great - thanks everyone - I'll see what I can get in Coffs Harbour after tomorrow and I'm sure that I should be able to find something.
