Has anyone put silicone radiators hoses on a 4500 petrol gu patrol
I'm putting new radiator in and just getting feedback if they are better or worse than standard rubber hoses
Thanks

It all depends on the rubber hose quality as compared to the now availabe silicon ones. In '86 I bought a HJ 61 LandCruiser and sold it 25 years later with all original rubber hoses still in good condition and not needing replacement. The spares I bought in case of snake bite deteriorated and showed degradation not ever having been used. The OE ones soldiered on. Will the silicon ones be as good?

I have not fitted them to a 4500 patrol GU,
I did fit them to my 4.2ltr TD GU patrol after someone backed thru the grill at the local boat ramp & they were on there for about 300,000klms with no problems, I also have them on the Suzuki sierra & recently ordered some hoses from the UK for my Jensen Interceptor & when they turned up they were silicone. As neoprene & rubber is getting more expensive I guess we will see more & more synthetic hoses used & you will find there is a lot less neoprene/rubber used & a lot more fillers used in all hoses/tyres etc now

Hi
Far better to spend the extra money on the core components rather than up grading to silicon when its not needed
Flush system forward and reverse with 15psi air and water
flush heater core
change all hoses and clamps
new rad cap
check fan belts
check water pump
check viscous hub operation
check fan shroud

Use distilled not demineralised / filtered water
Remember 50/50 mix
Use Hoat coolant Hybrid organic acid technology

Never ever mix coolants
Inhibitor --standard glycol --HOAT--OAT
