Have a Toyota Coaster and it is impractical to carry an extra spare. If worst came to worst could you drive with only one wheel on one of the rear duals

As long as the nuts will do up tight with only one wheel on, you should be right, Terry.

The Toyota trucks from ‘60’s & ‘70’s had 2 wheel nuts on each stud on rear wheels, so you could safely run one wheel on either side, depending on weight issues. The inner “nut” was threaded on inner & outer surfaces, and a large hex nut screwed on this to lock the outer wheel flange. Not sure if the Coaster has a similar arrangement?

Not sure but seem to rember LH threads on the left side wheels.

Absolutely what Bob Y says. There must be heaps of farm trucks out there with just one wheel where there would have originally been duals. Very common in rural areas.
