If so yards on properties and farms.
This can be found in the Legend.

There is also an online Legend from the Online Mapping system it points to this:
The scale on the image is a little small but solid little squares are buildings, empty squares are yards but these may also not be square more a solid blank line around a yard area.
I think you would be referring to the buildings marker however, have a look around a city and you will see lots of them, that will confirm it as a building point.
