Ivanhoe Crossing

Still closed, with concrete blocks, water is about 2 foot over the crossing and would wash most 4wd's down river, this is after the deluge they got from cyclone Deb...

It was open last year when I was there, I think they must have repaired the damage when they had some very dry wets recently.

Assuming it has not been damaged again, they should open it when the water levels drop.

Obviously there is always water going across for irrigation purposes but I think they like to let the excess get away after a big wet like the last one.

Ivanhoe Crossing is unlikely to be opened any time in the near future, after one of the wettest "wet" seasons in the Kimberley for a couple of decades.
Kununurra broke its rainfall record in January this year, with 591mm for the month, and 113mm falling on just one day in January.

Was there last week and it was closed the water levels are still very high. Water was over the concrete bollards that line the down stream side of the crossing.

Still lots of water in and around Kununurra, the Ord Dam is currently holding 105% of its capacity, nearly a metre over its full depth (spillway) level.

In mid-March, the Ord River Dam peaked at 151% of its capacity (it holds over 10,400,000 ML - in mid-March it was holding 15,845,000 ML!).
