Just completed a wet east to west Simpson crossing. All ok for all roads now in case anyone interested.
Can anyone let me know if
Coongie Lakes is accessible at the moment.
Has been very wet out here ...... around Dalhousie and Coober but all roads dry now.

Here's the link to
SA Desert Parks Bullletin
It will download a PDF file.
Not the easiest to find unless you are a subscriber.
Phil's link was to the downloaded file on his computer. We don't have access Phil. LOL

.
No worriers Phil.
Incidentally, I used to get these Bulletins by email regularly and automatically but I realise now that it seems to have ceased. I had to search for a reference to this latest Bulletin in the text of a page on Safety. Was not easy to find. There seems to be no link in the indexes of "National Parks South Australia".
How do you access them?
Cheers,
Allan

Yes it never has been easy to find!
I've always typed "desert park bulletin" into Google and it comes up with a VKS link or the Safety page. I also belong to some Friends of Parks groups and one of them sends the updated bulletins.

It gets closed quickly after rain so keep checking.
The Parks part of it wouldn't get a lot of maintenance I'd say. Both times I've driven it there's been some ugly surprises.

Hello we were there at Innaminka on Sunday 2 and it was closed then as was
Walkers crossing. Before that we were stuck at
Cameron Corner for three days as we had 12mm at CC and 17 at Innaminka. Don't know how it is now but hope yuo get there. Amazing place as we were there in 2009 but without a canoe.
Well we went back with a canoe this time but
road closed. Will have to go again.

Thanks to all who responded.
Sorry for my tardy reply buty I just returned yesterday.
I made it to Coongie without problems. Road was rough but dry. Quite busy at the lake but just as beautiful as ever.
Simpson was damp and we seemed to be one of the first out of the desert in the west without getting too dirty. It's remarkable how the roads dry so quickly - cars through just hours before us were covered head to toe in mud while my car was relatively "clean".
Thanks again.
