Has anyone travelled this road from Stuart Highway recently and can advise of road condition?
I was wondering if the last heavy wet season has adversely affected it.
Cheers

Which road are you referring to? The Buntine Hwy via the Victoria Hwy is all bitumen to Top Springs. The Buccanan is dirt and in good nick was out there a week ago.

Hi Bosun
I'm at Top Springs now.
So far while I have been sitting contemplating life here a road train, and 2 Cruisers, one with a freelander and one with a trackmaster have come through.
They have indicated the track is "good". No water anywhere to be seen.
Cheers

A couple of years old, but may still be relevant.
From Stuart hwy.to TS is a good smooth gravel surface. From TS to Timber Crk. the road has much hard
rock at the surface making for a fairly rough and bouncy ride.
At the Victoria
river crossing it was running about 60cm. over the causeway which could be a
hazard for low clearance.
We camped at a small creek
camp site near a
gorge. Was told it could be croc habitat and was pretty filthy with garbage.

Travelled this highway in a Holden ute about 45 years ago, BB, so doubt you'd have many problems these days. Don't recall any areas that would be severely affected by heavy rain.
