Woo-hoo!
Completed the Driver Awareness Training with the Toyota Landcruiser Club this weekend. The trainers are marvellous... generous, committed, experienced, flexible, informative, and fun. The training includes theory, demonstrations, and experiences that would be totally hair-raising without an instructor. We saw recovery demos using power winch, hand winch, and hi-lift jack. We drove up & down seriously rutted roads, dealt with mud, water and sand, and were drilled in convoy procedure.
After fitting out the truck with useful features, I've really enjoyed the opportunity to
test them and learn some finer points. This is also the next step towards making our lives safer, improving driving skills and securing great enjoyment of this beautiful country.
I'm impressed and elated, and I have a list of improvements to attend to. :-)
