I just love this littlle pop up here on the home page. Never go past the tip/fact of the moment when I log on. See some wonderful stuff there.

The one I just saw has sparked up the dying embers in my top paddock LOL LOL, and I can recall I have used it myself, to great effect, with some variations.

"Tips & Facts
Heat: When camped out and you are unable to sleep due to the heat use a spray bottle filled with water and lightly spray your bed and your face plus any bare flesh just before retiring."

I have also soaked a cotton T shirt with water and put it on, and have endured above 40c for night after night, whilst working in the fruit around Cobram/Shepparton/Echuca, truck driving, just to get relief, when air/con was not available.

Try it if you haven't. It works a treat. Takes a bit of getting used to, but better than the alternative.

Great idea. Here's another one.
I was working in Normanton years ago. The temperature in the donga was 45 degrees from 10am till 10 pm. We had lots of sheets in the cupboard. So we soaked them, rolled them up and put them in the freezer. When we were ready for bed we turned on the ceiling fan, pulled on a frozen sheet and went to sleep. The first to awake with the heat got the next sheet and pulled it over us.

We went through a dozen sheets each night.
