Below is some of the extrac from a Pradopoint thread We need all the support we can to get them to push through this so that we can have these in Australia...the more that ask about this and other products the more effort they may put into getting it approved.

When I lifted my truck I no longer needed the Toyota bottle jack and carried my Hi-Lift jack as my primary jack with a jack stand to use when working under the truck. After hearing several horor stories and almost having one I decided to
shop for a new method.
I found the
Powerbuilt 3 Ton All-In-One Bottle Jack/Jack Stand available in the US, but made in China so may be available in OZ. It may even be available at Supercrap. It takes up the space of my Jack stand alone and is the weight of carrying both anyway. It has a jack stand built into a bottle jack. It also has a large flat base and can be used in sand.

Thanks for posting KP. It's also not that far off of an idea to ask for a group buy. I have done it before and opened new products to North America. How else do you think we get COo.oOL products like MAXTRAX up here.
If we can't get this done I can call the US office and see if they can help in any way.

I sort of put that in my first email to them asking when and where I could buy and also included the link to this page hoping they would go and look it up and see what was on this site. Group buy would be great if we have an importer on the site willing to help out, but the problem is that is may not meet Australian standards at this time. What they are they did not say but looks to be a good concept. I would buy them when I am back in the USA soon but getting them back this way would cost to much and the better half we have us loaded for bear with stuff we cannot get here. Enjoying the life here will be staying as long as they want us here.

Can't support that call , in principle I think a screw type jack in generally inherrantly safter.
It may be that the Toyota one is inadequate , if so I suggest getting a Patrol one.

Robin, I know where you'r coming from. Things were better when Lightburn hydraulic jacks were available but I know of two dramatic failures with Chinese hydraulic jacks. One was a seal failure and in my own case the whole bleed valve assembly blew out. One end of me was covered in oil and the other end covered in........
well, never mind!

have u looked @ a, exhaust jack. ?? understand they have a 4T lifting capacity. I'm considering getting one, not sure how good they are. ???

Careful with the exhaust jack I have one and they are very unstable but works
well.

Have one and the better half drives most of the time...I have been reading lately about some of the jacks that never get used in anger are busting. see abouve thread. Just looking for an option of what could be gotten and what we do have already.

Why request them to supply something that does NOT meet the required Australian Standard??
They have indicated that they will contact you when they have completed the required testing to see if it conforms to the Aust Standard.
How many other Forums are you going to Spam with this??

It does not meet the AS as they have not finished testing it.
If and when it passing the required testing and they get approval, I am sure they will look into getting it stocked in Australia.

called Powerbuilt in California. I learned that it is made in China. It meets and exceeds ANSI/ASME PALD-2003 Safety Standards that apply to all jacks made in the US or China and is required to be sold. This includes a WLL (Working Load Limit) specafied and a breaking strength of 1.5 times the stated WLL, so it will safely lift up to 4.5 US Tons.
Just because a vendor uses a China supplier doesn't mean it's crap. Look at the ARB Simpson III Roof Top Tent and the new Freezer/Fridge. Both are from a reputable OZ Co. & made in China. It comes down to quality control of the parent Co.
