i got one off Derek about 6 months ago. Brilliant performer, managed to inflate 8 tyres (can and van) from 22 - 45 without a problem and in double quick time, numerous times. Bloody good value if you ask me!

Only downside is the canvas type bag is comes in could be better

Can I recommend one of the Bushranger compressors - I bought a black max, baulked at the price but quality costs - it has a metal piston (surprisingly this is unusual!) a quality metal bearing under the piston, its solid alloy not look-alike plastic including a metal inlet filter including spare filter pads. When you step on it, it wont break! It was 3 times the price of the cheapos but I know which will perform when its needed most like when your stuck out in the middle of nowhere...... Another plus is the built in quality gauge (its consistent vs accurate - use a digital if you want accuracy) and auto deflate - its a bit fiddly but maybe just takes getting use to. My only criticism is that the power lead is a bit on the short side - its was a stretch to get the rear wheels. I added in 3m of thick speaker wire from Jaycar and solved the problem (Take care to match the +ves). Now its paid for I think its a great investment!

Hi Supertramp,

I brought the ABR Sidewinder Compressor off Derek about 12 months ago.
I run 33"tyres and do a lot of off-road work on my farm and have also managed to fit in a trip to Cape York last June so it has had a fair workout already.
The compressor has performed faultlessly and gets a fair workout bringing at least my 4 tyres up from 14psi to 45psi and usually gets the job of pumping up the other cars as well.
For under $200 for a quality product that is backed by an honest local bloke you won't beat the product or the service.

For the skeptics i have no affiliation with ABR or Derek and actually discovered him on this site.

Yep,ABR,fast and reliable and the right price, and enough hose to reach the front of the cruiser from the tailgate.

Hi Supertramp,

I have the ARB one that comes in it's plastic tool kit looking box. Works great but with the clips that attach to the battery, you cannot reach the caravan tyres. If you are towing a caravan that it.

So changed plug for a anderson plug as most 4WD have them and now no need to open the bonnet and can reach the caravan as well.

Recommend them.
