G'day Marty, your description matches the conditions we found in May 14. In fact
from Bourke to Wanaaring was the worst road we encountered on the whole trip,
including Walkers Crossing, Plenty & GCR. Someone will have an update but I doubt
it will have improved...cheers....oldbaz.

It usually is, unless it's been hit with a bit of rain and then it's just a boggy mess that will be closed at both ends.

Both sections Tib to Wanaaring and then Wanaaring to Wilcannia are open at this point.

Might pay to ring the Wanaaring pub and inquire if the grader has been though of late.

Cheers Mick

we were out that way at the end of September and it wasn't too bad overall but there is sections mainly between Bourke and Wanaaring that has some very rough sections that seem to pop up form nowhere so a close eye on the road is needed, but then I wasn't expecting anything better either. The section between Wanaaring and Tibooburra I thought was ok.

Are you staying at Tibooburra.?......recommend Dead Horse Gully campground
