Pcm-3012 finally installed

I have a 2kw inverter and tye guy who hooked it up didn't hook that up because he was worried it couldn't take it. Not sure if it was that or the cheapy watt meter I had installed. In hindsight I really didn't need the meter that MPPT tell me everything I need to know.

Yeah so I had a coffee machine just switched on as well as a 50w charger

The batteries were full (2x120ah) and I was trying to take some charge out of them so I could see what the new panels and reg were doing but to be honest I never got it below 13.5.

A good problem to have for sure.

So basically it was working ok, then it was doing that, then it was just taking say 50w while the inverter was on and then when I switched the inverter off it went to 0.

i'm not technical, i got a caravan guy to install it i just thought people might know what's normal for this mppt controller... it's a pretty common one available and it's been mentioned here before

does the absorption phase do this on regs? is this totally abnormal?

it was charging steadily in the morning when the sun came up and then went into float mode where it was showing 50w.

then in the afternoon after using some power i noticed it was doing that. After a while it went into float mode again and settled down...

I was running a 1700w coffee machine and a battery charger, it was also 30c today in case that might have something to do with it.

I have 2x150w 12v (18.5v nominal voltage? )solar panels (in parallel) running into 2x120ah batteries. There is a matson battery charger for shore power, a 2kw pure sine wave inverter.

I have never seen a controller behave in that fashion.
They can be a bit edgy in scattered cloud conditions, but generally not to that extent.
