Has anyone recently travelled from Barkley
homestead to
heartbreak hotel looking for road condition's please

It is a bitumen highway.
Drove the 80km in the middle in 2021. We came up the Rankin Road (stock route) and then turned west on the Barkley Stock Route.

It’s a mostly one lane bitumen, that’s been fairly ordinary surface wise for some years, especially up towards Heartbreak. Would be advisable to take your time if deciding to go that way.
The country would look magnificent this year, after a big wet season.
And it’s BARKLY! :-)
