Thank goodness I purchased an Inmarsat Satellite phone all those years ago.
Charged it up, no credit on my prepaid SIM, cranked it up and then went into contacts and hit
Test My Phone and worked a charm. It told my I had no credit, I was not charged for the call and thank you for calling Inmarsat.
So at least I can still use
mine and will not become an expensive paper weight and if I have to dial 000, I know it will work.
Looks like Inmarsat Satellite Phones have now increased in value.

Will have to see what sort of arrangement they will offer to get us on a different company or we all own a 750 dollar paperweight.

Been plenty of talk on FB about the Thuraya demise, QC, and one bloke, who must own a communications business, made a comment that they are investigating all avenues to find a work around for all the brick owners.
